ScummVM 2.6.0 out now with more retro game support

By - | Views: 19,879

Keeping a great many classics alive with new game engines, ScummVM version 2.6.0 is officially out now.

This release brings eight newly supported games across 6 game engines, so there's plenty to be excited about for this very important open source game preservation tech. Newly supported includes:

  • Sanitarium
  • Hades Challenge
  • Marvel Comics Spider-Man: The Sinister Six
  • The 11th Hour
  • Clandestiny
  • Tender Loving Care (CD-ROM Editions)
  • Uncle Henry's Playhouse
  • Wetlands
  • Chewy: Esc from F5

Of course they're not just focused on getting new games running but fixing up older supported games too, and they've got numerous bug fixes and improvements there across various games engines to improve the likes of Simon the Sorcerer 1 & 2, Titanic, Sherlock, Backyard Baseball 2003, Monkey Island 1 & 2, Full Throttle, The Dig and The Curse of Monkey Island and many more.

A big addition to the UI this release is a new icon grid overview, along with some shiny artwork to go with it. Sounds like a nice way to show off and browse your collection.
