A new video for Civilization VI shows off the English, but they don't seem to want to talk about the Linux version at the moment.

First up, the new video:

Their press emails only mention Windows PC, even though Civilization VI is confirmed for Linux. I asked about it and got this response:
2K repThanks for your email. We're just talking about the Windows PC version right now. As usual, I expect we'll communicate about Linux and Mac separately closer to launch.

I fully expect Linux to come after the Windows version. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I dont like this scheme that most of the developers are doing

It seems that most of the developers are porting their old titles to Linux but not their newest ones

For example

F1 2015 , Lets port the old title to Linux but not the new one
Tomb Raider Lets port the old title to Linux but not the new one
The Banner Saga , Lets port the old title to Linux but not the new one
Killing Floor , Lets port the old title to Linux but not the new one
Civilization Lets port the old title to Linux but not the new one yet

and so on...

What do you think a Linux user is ? A funding machine for your new games?

Honestly I really hate this ! :><:

Developers, I really want to play your new games not a year after... :><:

Eh, they said a while ago that they'd do a Linux release. Whether or not it will be a first day release has not much to do with their marketing machine about the game in general instead of the ports. Don't panic just because Linux is not mentioned in every single posting. ;)

XCOM 2 was a Day 1 release. Why wouldn't Firaxis do the same with Civ VI? I suppose it doesn't really matter to me because I see no reason at all to prefer Civ VI over Civ V with its expansions, and I really don't like VI's cartoon aesthetic. Besides, the Civilization series just feels a bit shallow after getting hooked on Paradox's ridiculously deep and complex grand strategy games.

Yeah, I feel the same about it. I absolutely hate the childish looks, and the other changes I am highly skeptical about, particularly cities requiring more tiles. This will just mean that territorial expansion will become even more paramount than it already is, as space will be even more at a premium. And I had a complete facepalm moment when they announced even more restrictions for placing wonders. Them eating up entire tiles and stuff like "Pyramids only on desert tiles". Really? Yes, the real life Great Pyramid is in the desert, but there is no compelling reason whey they all have to be. There are pyramids in South America. Lots of them. Gah.

I'm guessing England won't be part of the EU in Civ VI either? :P

There's always a silver lining :D

OT: I'm not sure I'm a fan of the new art-style

I feel pretty similar, although the art style doesn't particularly bother me. While this looks like a quite decent game I already have Civ V and all its expansions, and don't really feel the need for a new version yet (though I like that VI is keeping the archaeology, that was a fun addition in V). Discovering Paradox's grand strategy games two years ago hasn't helped me either. Though having been a fan of the Civ series since Civ III, I might pick it up after release when it goes on sale, or when a major expansion comes out.

That might be England's special trait even?

"Cannot join alliances. Has a 15% chance per turn to break every other agreement for no apparent reason."

:p
