AirMech Has A New Linux Build That Should Run For More Gamers

By - | Views: 8,889
The good news is that it runs for me, as opposed to the previous build not working. This is due to them building the game with the Steam Runtime, so it should work across all distributions now!

All hail Varcolac1 who looks like he's/she's off to do Maths homework! The game seems to have a chat box auto-open, so that's nice.

You can find the build and give more feedback on their new forum topic here. Remember to stay positive and helpful like I know you will be.

Sadly, right now the Linux build is Linux vs Linux multiplayer only, as they mention it would take a lot of work to re-do it for cross-platform, but they didn't say they won't do it. They need us to show them the extra work is worth it, as it could cause breakage for the stable Windows builds.

About the game (From Steam)
AirMech is fast paced Action RTS that can be played like Dota or Starcraft--you can battle on the ground or command from the skies! Practice solo, or jump into coop or even pvp modes. 1v1, 2v2, or 3v3 plus the army you build to fight alongside you. Either command from above, dogfight with other players, or wreck things on the ground in mech mode. Level up ingame similar to Dota style games, build your army as if you were playing an RTS, or anything in between! Team play means every player can play a role while still helping their side win.

I've played this on chrome over a year ago, what does this standalone version offers over it?
