DiRT Showdown Updated For Linux, Should Fix It Up Nicely

DiRT Showdown has fantastic performance, but it did suffer from an annoying bug, and it looks like it has now been fixed.

Patch notes below:
Quote1 September 2015 12:11 BST - Update (BuildID 757342)

This update should address the following issues:

- Fix the loading screen lockups issue on both Linux and Mac
- The Shift key is now definable as an action key on Linux
- Improved gamepad support on Linux to avoid having to calibrate gamepad on every game launch (the old "Don't trust what the driver says" method is still available, by setting —eon_calibrate_gamepads on the command line)

I think it's really great for them to respond to feedback from the community, especially on the gamepad front.

DiRT should now work properly right away with most gamepads, instead of you needing to rotate sticks and press a bunch of buttons to get it working each time. I'm looking forward to them adding this behaviour into older ports too.

You can see more info about the gamepad stuff in this comment on github. It explains why they did it that way, but I'm pleased to see them change it to just trust the driver for most models now.

Check out DiRT Showdown on Steam, this patch makes it pretty much perfect. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

The fix for pads works well. This port is extremely good : no crash, good performance, ... :-)

I hope they'll bring the fix to SpecOps : the Line, and that the improvements from the fixes there will be brought to other games like TW2 or Bioshock Infinite.

Unfortunately fix does not work for dualshock 4 (both triggers stop to work), but old option makes me able to use old rotate both angles trick. However, as I said yesterday - I do admire that they work on their product and they talk to the community.

Hmm I was trying to get my old Thrustmaster NASCAR wheel to work with this game last night. I wonder if it's possible after this patch.

This patch also fixed a micro-stuttering problem I had, so it's running like a dream now.
Any chance of Dirt3 being ported next?

This game is awesome. I love it. I also play "Dirt 3: Complete Edition" in WINE and that plays as though it was native.

I played a couple of team races with my wife's nephew and it all worked just fine, aside from his crashy and underpowered Windows laptop that is. No racenet needed. Didn't look into other online game modes though.
