Don't Starve Together is the official multiplayer version of the excellent survival game Don't Starve, and it will get the original Reign of Giants expansion now too as a free update.

DST is currently in Early Access, so it will have bugs and incomplete features. With that said, it's still pretty damn fun.

I always said Don't Starve was a game that begged for multiplayer, and I am so glad they decided to do it (easy money for them!).

The official statement is copied below:
QuoteReign of Giants will officially be added to Don't Starve Together beginning April 21st.

As a new free expansion; Reign of Giants brings new characters, seasons and creatures. And now, just for Don't Starve Together; meaner, badder giants for you and your friends to... enjoy.

To usher in Reign of Giants we will be inviting streamers for an early look at Reign of Giants later this week! If you are playing Don't Starve Together on Twitch or YouTube, be sure to check back this Thursday for more information on how to get your early invite.

And also this Thursday, we will release our new Twitch mod so your viewers can play along as they determine various events in your world. Viewers can repopulate berry bushes, spawn creatures, or make it rain (frog rain of course). Help or harm, it's in their hands.

See you Thursday!

I wait for don't starve together to be released so I don't have to pay for it since I already own don't starve.
But, this news is about reign of giants included with don't starve together right, not don't starve together being released.
Can't wait to play it in multi, but won't pay 20 more for it

I always felt that nearly no game could beg less than Don't Starve for multiplayer.
For me it was about being so alone in an environment ao adverse...

Kind of. You can't play single player exactly- but you can play 2 player with Friends Only on so no one but friends can join and if none of your friends join, it's the same as singleplayer.

I don't think it makes sense to buy it if you want to play single player. It's just the multiplayer part developed seperately at the moment - but it will be added to the original Don't Starve for free when it's ready.
It is nice addition but I have the feeling I will be playing the game as Singleplayer, survival games are better for me if I play by myself as it is a test to see if I can survive. Having additional players would make the game easier because you can assign various important tasks to friends making the survival aspect of Don't Starve trivial. However, people should have options and this clearly doesn't water down the Singleplayer experience in anyway so I welcome the addition.
