FortressCraft Evolved is a hard to describe game that takes a lot from Minecraft with a much more expansive building system.

It is pretty much Minecraft on some super steroids with more graphical effects, many more block options. Sadly the creator of Minecraft Markus "Notch" Persson wasn't too impressed by it, but that's another story.

The developer has noted the Linux version is in preview mode:
QuoteOk the linux version works,

You can find it by right clicking the game and selecting properties, betas linuxuniversal. And waiting for it to download.

It functions, well, that is, on 32 bit systems you just press play and it *should* work. On 64 bit systems you'll have to right click on the game, go to properties, go to local files, browse local files and start (usually by double clicking) FC_Linux_Universal.x86_64.

Keep in mind we'll be concentrating more on multiplatform support _after_ we're done getting multiplayer in :)

Be warned though, bugs are to be expected, so don't go in hoping for a super polished experience.

For me I had to manually find the config file and turn it to Windowed mode as opposed to full-screen because of Unity's terrible Linux mouse issues.

I haven't really found the point of this game yet other than being Minecraft on steroids, let me know what you think of it in the comments.

About
The original FortressCraft was one of the best-selling Indie games of all time. FortressCraft Evolved grows from this powerful base, giving access to incredibly detailed and epic Creative building, as well as allowing a unique form of Survival mode. Creative Mode allows large builds to be made much more quickly, and easily then duplicated and tweaked, and shared with other users effortlessly - all this alongside the world-class voxel building experience that gamers have come to expect.

FortressCraft Evolved includes a host of new features and functionality, which will provide players with the flexibility, variety and detail to realize their wildest worlds. The creative tools will enable users to design and implement magnificent creations, in a quick and intuitive fashion, whereas the Survival mode allows players to manage the ore extraction, processing and power distribution of an entire futuristic mining operation, whilst having to survive both the elements and hostile creatures.
