GOL Asks Again: What Have You Been Playing Recently?

There's been a lot of new releases recently with no signs of slowing down, so what have you been investing your time in recently?

Personally I've spent more time than I thought I would have in Civilization V. It hooked me in a little more than I thought it would...just one more turn!

I've also just picked up the XCOM expansion in the sale, and look forward to seeing how poorly my soldiers have trained with their shocking aim some more.

Sadly I would like to invest some more time in Planetary Annihilation smashing moons into a base someone spent an hour building, but wow it's so utterly broken right now it's not worth repeatedly closing it and launching it again to see if the UI decides to show up in-game. I hope they fix this soon. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Still just DOTA2 with some Half-Life mixed in there somewhere. I think I have a problem...

Honestly, I have not been gaming recently. Too much to do.

I do still have a game of Duke Nukem 3D going using the gog.com release that I go back to on roughly weekly intervals though, and I am slowly and rather despondently making my way through A Machine for Pigs.

None of these are new releases, but then, I almost never play a game when it has just come out, even for Linux.

I've been testing out a variety of mods on Minecraft recently. I've also been playing quite a bit of Pirate Hell too in my spare minutes, I find its a great bit of stress relief and fun (not much depth though).

I'm looking forward to Banished arrive natively on Linux as well as Football Manager 2015.

I completed Back to Bed yesterday. It's a pretty neat puzzle game with a great visual style, but it's a bit short and on the easy side. Still really liked it though, and I don't regret picking it up on release.

I've also played through Dynamite Jack that I got in a bundle ages ago. I'm tempted to call it a hidden gem, only it's more of a hidden passably good game that's good for 15 minute sessions here and there.

Still have to get through Portal 2, but I'm over halfway through and each level have become much more of a time investment, so it has been harder to pick up lately.

Sadly I've stopped playing Civilisation V because of a few total crash I've encountered, it doesn't happen often but when it does that ruin it for me.
