Gunpods Vagabond [Itch Link] is a 2D, side-scrolling shooter with physically simulated, Lunar Lander style movement mechanics. It was built with the open source Godot engine, so I took a look.

It's currently free, but the developer plans to gradually increase the price as development continues using an Early Access style model.

It starts off very slow, but it will gradually get more difficult as more enemies fill up the screen. Getting to grips with the movement style isn't actually that difficult, but due to all the objects that fill up the screen avoiding them and the enemies together can be quit difficult.

It's a cool idea, and I do love a good side-scrolling shooter, but it's really basic right now. I will be keeping an eye on it.

Reminder: Be sure to use the awesome open source itch app, it helps keep your games updated and it's really slick. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

It's always good to see games made with the Godot Engine.
Im currently expirimenting with it too as a programming beginner (sort of, did some mods for starbound with lua but that doesnt count).
