Interstellar Marines released in Early Access on Steam

Today Zero Point Software released Interstellar Marines on Steam Early Access. It's still in Pre-Alpha state but many features are available right now. For now it will only support Windows and Mac, but support for Linux is on roadmap and should be available soon.

Right now following features are implemented:
  • Team Deathmatch (4vs4) in highly dynamic environments.
  • 5 unique maps featuring dynamic environment configurations such as time of day, rain, thunder and lightning, emergency lighting, fire alarms etc.
  • Experience various maps and prototypes in “Playground” mode (singleplayer)
  • 100% dynamic lighting and real-time shadows as well as destructible light fixtures.
  • Full-body first person character simulation (no more floating hands!).
  • Physically present combat helmet (visor glass is affected by light and rain).
  • Submachine Gun (CE6) with full-auto fire.
  • Shoot from hip or look through the Red Dot scope for increased accuracy.
  • Toggleable tactical flashlight for when it’s pitch black.
  • Toggleable laser to assist your aim (no crosshairs)
  • Smooth network play even on high latency connections with packet loss.
  • Realistically simulated ragdolls with momentum transfer.
  • Play on high capacity dedicated servers in both US, Europe and Australia.


Game will be constantly improved, to present players with game they deserve.

 Should be in the edit private information section in your interstellar marines account. I got my keys, and added them to steam.

Isn't this the game that was gonna have Linux support because it was using Unigine but then it switched to Unity and the Linux version was canned because Unity didn't support Linux and that time?

You are thinking about Primal Carnage.
They switched from Unigine to UDK.

I'm hoping this one turns out well too, was backing it on their kickstarter that failed to hit an ambitious goal. Any more details available on the roadmap, in particular the parts affecting Linux support?

They had told me something about "Middleware" that didn't work on Linux. Im not sure what kind of Middleware, but they said they need to figure out how to get it working correctly.
