I have been waiting and attempting to be patient on this, Stardew Valley has now popped up on SteamDB with a Linux/Mac testing branch.

We already knew it was coming to Linux, but I hadn't seen anything to indicate a release. It is now showing up on SteamDB. It still doesn't mean it's soon, even with the developer claiming back in June it would be "very soon" it's over a month later and it's only just popping up in a test branch on SteamDB.

It looks like they may do some sort of open beta, as looking here the comment on the beta depot is:
QuoteHelp test the mac and linux releases!

I can't wait to play it! Are you going to grab a copy? I already have a copy as my girlfriend gifted me a copy when it first came out.

About the game
You've inherited your grandfather's old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life. Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home? It won't be easy. Ever since Joja Corporation came to town, the old ways of life have all but disappeared. The community center, once the town's most vibrant hub of activity, now lies in shambles. But the valley seems full of opportunity. With a little dedication, you might just be the one to restore Stardew Valley to greatness! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Excellent! I'll definitely pick up a copy. It seems the Linux/Mac beta is open, too?
In the SteamDB branches:
Quotemac_linux_test | Help test the mac and linux releases!
and there's no lock.

Can someone confirm this?

Yes it's showing up in my girls Arch Linux Steam under the Beta tab.

It does require a beta code though, if anyone has the code and wants to share I wouldn't mind. My copy comes when they launch Linux and especially when they launch multiplayer who knows when hopefully Starbound Developers don't screw that up.

Sweet! I´ve been very curious about this title and the reviews are pretty glowing, so it´s an insta-buy.

I only wish I had a linux-pad to play it outside in the summer heat, I considered trying to install linux on my Asus-Transformer but it seems like there is some loss of hardware functions and the process is pretty involved.

I will probably wait for GOG version, like I did with Undertale. But that's really good news.
