New Steam Client Beta Updates The FPS Counter

By - | Views: 9,771
The fantastic new FPS counter on the Steam Beta client is great, and this update makes it a ton more useful! I am really fond of this feature, but surprised it took this long to do.

The new features are really note worthy, and make it a lot easier to see with different viewing modes, and position placing.

It's the little things like this that make Steam as popular as it is, as they make meaningful features super simple to use.

All you do is enable it in the settings:

See below of the newer counter that's sized better:

And the high visibility mode:

See the announcement on Steam. This is the Beta client folks, so remember to opt-in to the Steam beta if you wish to trial it. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

The FPS counter without these settings is available in the non-beta version now as well.

I guess it's time to go beta again. I disabled it because it seemed to always fail with trading in steam.

More important, what game is that you are playing, looks like I might have to add it to my wishlist ;-) Also FPS counter yay!

Yup, Ziggurat.

This should help so much in determining which settings need to be tweaked in order to get a smooth 60 frames per second. Not sure how people did it before, especially on Linux.
