New Team Fortress 2 Update Titled 'Gun Mettle'

TF2 seems to be doing what Counter Strike Global Offensive is with limited time campaigns, and charging for them. Some of the profits do go to the community, so that's nice.

The main thing forking out for Gun Mettle gives you is access to super rare drops, like unique weapons which will be "one of a kind" Valve claim. Each one will have a slightly different paint job.

You also get access to a new campaign which gives you two contracts a week, and that's how you will earn your new weapon drops.

I imagine this will create some hot trading opportunities for people.

The pass will cost you $5.99, and it runs for three months.

See the official Gun Mettle site here for the full scoop. There's lots more to it, so if you're into TF2 you should give it a full look through. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Can't wait for the competitive matching making & ranking! You need a "Competitive Matchmaking Beta Pass" if you want in on the beta but it sounds like it will be a drop over an item you can pay for.

Here is a video showing off some of the new menu designs for match making:

The recent patch has also balanced the game for competitive a lot, hopefully we will see a more eSports-esc crowd on TF2.

the game is slower and unstable after this update, but I paid the $6, looks fun.
