Our Linux Game Release Calendar Has Been Slightly Revamped

By - | Views: 15,378
Just a heads up Linux gamers, our release calendar has been updated. It will no longer spam the entire year out to you when you visit.

Instead, you will now be greeted with the current month which is much more useful, and you're able to select a specific month now too. Previously you could only change the year. As an addition you can now link directly to a month and year on the calendar like so.

There's also now simple < Prev and Next > buttons/links right next to the months name, so you don't have to open the drop-down every time if you find that easier.

Are there any other features you think would make it more useful? Let me know, and if they don't take immense amounts of time and frustration to do, then I might just do them.

As always, I do this because I enjoy it and find it useful myself. Feel free to throw a Paypal tip or sub to our Patreon if you like it too, or don't that's also cool. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Thanks, I suggested that as it was more and more annoying as the year went on and more and more games were announced/released! <3

It would be great to fix the .ics file and start showing the events as full-day events. They show up as one-hour events for me 2:00-3:00 AM (that's related to my timezone). This happens both in Google Calendar and Evolution. I provided suggestions how to fix this here:

As I posted there months ago it should have been fixed, and no one said anything so I assumed it was. Checking now I see it isn't, will look into it further.

Edit: This should now be sorted.
Edit 2: Okay, now it's really sorted, and covers a whole day on my google calendar for each item.

The Witcher 3, best guest on november 1st? Is it just a wishfull thinking or is it based on something more solid? Ok, wishfull thinking might not be the right expression but I'm wondering what is behind this "guess"?

It makes me really glad to think of such a close release even if it's a month or two too early...

That was someone's wishful thinking, I have edited it into 2016.

I missed your reply in the linked thread, otherwise I'd responded. Thanks for looking into this again.

Unfortunately I don't see it fixed. Each event is now a full day event from 2:00 AM to 2:00 AM the next day, so each event spans two days now. See this:

However, if I download the .ics file and import it into google calendar manually, it renders correctly (each event as a single full-day event). I'm very confused why that is. Maybe I just need to wait until Google refreshes the ics URL? (I tried to refresh manually, even re-add, didn't help).

The first fix was the borked one across two days, the new fix has it correctly. I had to remove the calendar and then re-add it for google calendars to pick it up properly.
