Outland A 2D Platformer Coming To Linux!

By - | Views: 12,284
Outland is a 2D platformer with action game elements developed by Housemarque and published by Ubisoft. Gameplay mainly revolves around using Light (blue) and Dark (red) energies, which allows the player to pass through their respective barriers, and attack monsters born of the opposite alignment (e.g. use Light to attack Dark monsters). The game uses an open world structure.
A developer has confirmed a Linux port is being developed.

@collidernyc OSX and Linux versions are in the works. We don't have a release date for those yet, but we'll have them :)

Reminds me a bit of Telsagrad (what with the red and blue elements), save for a lot of charm. :P

We can confirm that the game does not feature uPlay integration.

Yeah i really hate Ubisoft for forcing me to make registration and install Uplay for their games even though I've bought it on Steam.

Wouldn't be the first time...

Except that Outland came out two and a half years before Teslagrad... And the red / blue stuff is basically Ikaruga's main mechanic, albeit different colors.

I wasn't insinuating that one inspired the other, that's just what came to mind :)
