Pretty disappointed, this game is bugged to high heaven. This game is no where near ready. I hope an update make it playable.

QuoteBlade of Destiny is a faithful remake of the 1992 original

It's even so much a "faithful" remake that the company that publishes the pen & paper roleplaying game officially distanced itself from the remake of the computer games (*).

(*) The rights for the computer game lie with a different company, for historical reasons. The current rights holder for the pen & paper system is also not the same company that held them when the original Realms of Arkania games were released.

It was released back in July. It's been 5 months and dozens of updates, and people still hope that it's gonna be playable some day...

I don't mind if it takes a while but there are some real interesting bugs right off the back, defaulting to German may stump a few people... I really want to play it but hopefully it bakes a bit while I got other games to play.

I watched a couple videos on YouTube and it looks terrible, especially once it gets into combat. And some terrible bugs (that may be fixed now).

"REAL RPG"

You mean the character-driven kind that doesn't involve a computer?

Graphics and animations have been improved as well since release, so you should check if what you see is from the latest patch (1.32). Improving goes on, so the bugs hopefully will get less and less.
The game has very good moddability so you can add your own quests, events, items and so on or try some mods that someone else created.

Has performance issues, otherwise looks fun. It's on my list of many games I have yet to play =)

I am on the fence with this game.

OK on the one hand all the reviews are terrible, yet most of them date from July or August or September, when the game was released in a broken state. Rumours have it that it was a conflict between the developing studio and the publisher. Publishers always win. Since then the developers have released several patches. The latest patch in December is apparently almost like a patch 2.0, bringing a lot of improvements.

I am going get this game, if only to support what could be a solid Rpg on linux, and I feel that the support is going to be ongoing for a while... There is a hardcore group of players supporting it, so there must be something about this game that keeps them loyal.
