SWORDY is a rather fun looking local party brawler that has just released on Steam in Early Access. It could see a Linux release too, if Microsoft allow it.

From their Steam forum explaining the issue:
QuoteAs far as SteamOS/Linux, it can be tricky. At the moment, we are console exclusive to Xbox One (we are releasing on XBO at later date, currently no ETA). The tricky part about that is that we would be allowed on desktop PCs running Linux, but not on "consoles" running Linux. We will have to clarify it with Microsoft.

To their credit, it sounds like they fully want to do it, but they need Microsoft's blessing:
QuoteWe're definitely aiming to have Swordy available for Linux in the future, no reason why we wouldn't want that! Just need to make sure we're allowed and that we can deliver a quality build when we have it!

About the game
Swordy is a local party brawler with chaotic physics-based action. Master the weapons of war, using momentum and timing to fight for your life in a world built on the bones of a ruined empire.

In Swordy you will wield and engage with a variety of weapon types and fighting tactics. Slashing, stabbing, piercing crushing, cleaving, throwing, and dual wielding are available in the form of swords, knives, hammers, flails, axes, shields and more as we develop. @Liam: You should also quote the other message, which was hidden in nomand's wrongly formatted second answer:

Quoting: GuestI really don't understand why developers don't do more research to find a publisher that allows them to put the game on any platform they want, or just publish it themselves through GOG or Steam!
I'm pretty sure it's not as trivial as you make it sound.

I'm listening?
Well, just think about it. First you have to find a publisher who's actually willing to take a chance on your game, but what if you can't find one who is also open to the idea of supporting multiple platforms? Self-publishing is always an option, but that also means giving up the support of a publisher.

It's really not an easy nut to crack for a small developer.

Man, this game reminds me so much of an old, old arcade game with vector graphics. It was also top-down like this. I'm having trouble remembering the name of it.

*edit* It was called simply "Warrior", from Vectorbeam in 1979.

This looks like an amazingly fun game to play with friends! I really hope that Microsoft will ease up a bit and let them do it.
