Valve's Vogl OpenGL Debugger Now Supports Unreal Engine 4

By - | Views: 7,019
Good news guys, Valve dropped everything to make sure their Vogl debugger works with Unreal Engine 4.
QuoteOnce we heard UE4 Linux was coming we pretty much dropped everything to ensure vogl can handle UE4 callstreams.

Rich gives us a bit of info about Unreal Engine+OpenGL too:
QuoteUE4's OpenGL renderer is the most advanced we've worked with so far. It's providing valuable test cases for several modern GPU features we've not had traces to validate our code against, such as compute shaders and cubemap arrays. We'll be making UE4 GL callstreams part of our regression test suite going forward.

So, Unreal Engine 4 is probably the most advanced game engine on Linux right now. I can't wait to see it in action and performance should be good too if developers use Vogl.

It is in the early stages, so certain features don't work as expected or maybe a bit fiddly.

They also have a new team member 'John McDonald' who will be helping with with SteamOS & Vogl.

Is Windows support on the roadmap for either vogl or voglperf at all or started by anyone yet?
Finally, this day has come! Windows users ask for porting from Linux to Windwows.
