Worlds of Magic is a good looking turn based strategy game that has just released into Steam Early Access and it looks great. The game is based on Master of Magic and the initial reviews are stellar.

Looks like it has a mix of a few different genre's mixed in with it for good measure too, As not only will you be turn-based battling, but you found cities, raise armies, research and cast spells, hire powerful heroes, and create powerful magical artefacts. All in one tight package.

We hope it's using a later Unity version so that the Unity mouse issues for Linux gamers won't be present.

Be warned though it isn't cheap at £29.99! I would love to give this a go, but with Tropico 5 on the horizon that's a bit more priority for me persnally!

Check out Worlds of Magic on Games Republic (buy it there to support us).

Looks cool, but Age of Wonders 3 is also coming soon I hope. I guess I will pick this up when it leaves early access.

Pretty much an accurate description of Master of Magic.

I usually don't buy early access, but this time I might make an exception.^_^:D

That sounds like Heroes of Might and Magic. Is this game like Heroes of Might and Magic?

Glad to see more and more 4x style strategy games coming to Linux. I'm a big fan of strategy games.

There's a lot in common with HoMM, and I think fellow HoMM fans should give it a try. As a backer I tried an early combat demo and that was promising.

The original turn-based 4X game for Linux, Dominions 4 (or, for that matter, Dominions 3, both of which are on Steam, and all four Dominions games, all of which were originally developed on Linux, are availble from Desura), should not be ignored. No finer turn-based 4X game, IMHO, exists.

The Worlds of Magic beta is showing a lot of promise, but wait for tomorrow's build if you haven't installed it already (they broke save/load while working on the mechanism to make save files compatible across builds)
