I'm not going to apologise for many XCOM 2 articles, I am excited, deal with it. XCOM 2 can now be pre-loaded ready to play on release day.

The even better news (for me) is it will be available to play at 11PM GMT tomorrow the 4th.

About XCOM 2 (Official)
XCOM 2 is the sequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the 2012 award-winning strategy game of the year.

Earth has changed. Twenty years have passed since world leaders offered an unconditional surrender to alien forces. XCOM, the planet’s last line of defense, was left decimated and scattered. Now, in XCOM 2, the aliens rule Earth, building shining cities that promise a brilliant future for humanity on the surface, while concealing a sinister agenda and eliminating all who dissent from their new order.

Only those who live at the edges of the world have a margin of freedom. Here, a force gathers once again to stand up for humanity. Always on the run, and facing impossible odds, the remnant XCOM forces must find a way to ignite a global resistance, and eliminate the alien threat once and for all. Super!

It's a 23.1 GB download so it shouldn't take too long.

Most likely, is gonna be worth a full price purchase, but, as much as I loved XCOM:EU and EW, I will stay strong and *not* pre-order this.

The day one price will not be higher than now, right?

$59.99 is what it is, and what it will be on day one. Though if you preorder, you can take advantage of all the coupons floating around right now.

Not in my region of the world. :) (It's 49.99€ here - good they don't trade 1:1, which I think they sometimes do.)

Even if they did, it'd still be worth that arm and a leg. :P

Wow - I totally expected to have to wait a while for the Linux version. This is remarkably cool.

Hmph.

I was hoping to get it through Steam Family Sharing off a linked account, but it's not showing up yet.

Should I count on this not working (as some games don't end up in Steam Family Sharing) at all, or does that begin to work only after once a game releases, or something like that?

Just wonder when will Feral's radar get updated. XCOM 2 is still not in Very soon section (it is in Soon) and Batman Arkham Knight is still in Quite soon section. Hope we will see some new titles on the radar.
