Far Cry

So I saw Far Cry Classic is available through PlayOnLinux. Does it run decently? Is it worth trying? If I do decide to get it, what installation should I expect?

Let's say: It could run! The problem is the loading time. Last time I've tried this out it literally loaded for about 10 minutes before the first level. After this it was a little better. But I would try it again: You could even use your own wine-prefix using some tipps from the appdb (link. What distribution way to you want to try? GOG? Or something else? The GOG-version should be patched up and ready. Also: Which Linux-distribution do you want to use?

I'm using Ubuntu and GOG.

Therefore it should work using the tipps in the appdb. Best way would be to set up another wineprefix with the corresponding version of wine (https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=31242. Remember to add the needed winetricks otherwise the game wouldn't start. I just wouldn't use the predefined installer package within PlayOnLinux because sometimes the scripts are a little bit old and not the best way to install.

There was a kernel bug which affected it. It was fixed not long ago. See here: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33275
