Our Linux & SteamOS gamer survey for February is now up.
Tempest is a pretty good looking naval warfare game involving pirate ships, and it looks like it's coming over to Linux.
Everyone playing ARK: Survival Evolved on Linux can calm down now, as BattlEye now supports Linux and it's already live.
We Are Legion is a small indie strategy game with no unit caps, so you could end up with millions of units going at it. Sounds fun, but the graphics are pretty low-res.
It's getting close to the launch of Vulkan, I can feel it! Khronos are doing a webinar on February 18th at 9:00am PT (17:00 GMT).
A pretty major Steam Client Beta just landed, and with it comes hardware accelerated encoding for In-Home Streaming on Nvidia with Linux, and you can also now configure the Steam Controller for desktop mode (including using the big picture overlay when launching from the desktop client).
Amazon dropped a bit of a big one recently, they announced Lumberyard which will be a mix of code from CryEngine, Double Helix and you can get source code access with it too.
Sad news for players of ARK: Survival Evolved as it now uses BattlEye for online play, but the great news is the developers of ARK have confirmed BattlEye is coming to Linux and they are throwing money to help it happen. This will also be good news for Arma 3 players.
Firewatch looks awesome, for the style, the story and the gameplay. It's available day-1 for Linux and SteamOS.
Roguelikes have a tendency to be really complex games with tons of depth and thick user manuals. Sproggiwood is a game that tries to do away with the complexity but still offer an enjoyable roguelike experience. Let's check it out!
Experiencing performance issues or stuttering in Feral's excellent port of XCOM 2? These engine tweaks might be just what you're looking for.
Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition is a big patch and DLC now available for Dying Light. I have tested it a bit and here's what I found.
I've heard reports far and wide that the Linux to Linux multiplayer in Dying Light is broken. Myself and Samsai tried to connect to each other many times and it failed every time, lets get it fixed.
A developer of Super Snow Fight, a multiplayer action indie game, claims in its Steam discussion forum that if they receive enough requests to release a Linux version, they will take it into consideration.
Sorry for the lateness, but GPUOpen from AMD is now officially open to the public. I really like the way AMD is going doing things like this.
