Demands for the Linux version of a game can be sometimes quite vocal, but its actual release does not seem to bring much, if any, profit. This is not because Linux users are not willing to pay in general; rather, it means that targeting the platform is more expensive than the price that can be reasonably charged for a single copy.

I have noticed a very scary drift towards accepting wrapper based ports. Working as a developer and also a long term Linux user I can only believe that it is due to misunderstanding of the processes, restrictions, and licenses that go into porting a game.

Nightside is one of the coolest looking RTS games I've seen in years, and it had another big update recently.

Anno Online is getting destroyed by the reviews on Steam, so naturally I need to see what all the fuss is about for this Linux game from Ubisoft & Blue Byte.

Daedalic Entertainment's latest game, Anna's Quest, got a same-day release for Linux earlier this week, both on Steam and DRM free on GOG. I've played a bit of the game, and I'm enjoying it a lot so far.

A recent article about Jon Blow has spurred other developers getting in touch, and one developer is Brushfire Games, the developer of Shipwreck. Their sales are looking good, and they have some thoughts.

I am always wary of posting articles like this, but sometimes what developers with influence say needs pointing out. This time Jonathan Blow who created the hit indie game Braid has been downplaying Linux gaming.

Just a little warning if you were thinking of picking up '7 Days to Die', they just release Alpha 12 which has completely broken Mac & Linux builds.

Project Zomboid is easily one of the best Zombie survival games around, build 32 adds a lot of new stuff, and Steam integration is coming soon.
