Octopus City Blues is certainly an interesting title, the developers don't even say it's actually a game, they say it is "game-like" hah. Well to be more precise they also call it an authentic Octopus City Simulation Software (OCSS). Freaked out yet? I am.

The game itself was Kickstarted in September of 2013 and hit way over its $7,000 goal to hit a big $20,419.

Grab a pre-order deal here with 0% off for pre-ording, warning it will destroy your bank at a pricey $10, just kidding that's quite reasonable for a game-like game.

About
Over a year ago Ghost in a Bottle Enterprises set out to redefine the Octopus City Simulation genre with the announcement of Octopus City Blues. The video above is the culmination of our work over the last month. We are really proud of the result and we hope you will like it too.

What is Octopus City Blues?

The authentic Octopus City Simulation Software, of course! To be precise, it’s an interactive experience in which you get to explore the titular Octopus City, a towering metropolis built around a giant octopus.

So it’s a game?

It’s game-like at best.

What kind of game?

One of a kind. We draw inspiration from many sources, including games. If it were a game, it’d probably be described as an adventure game. You make a lot of decisions and meet really weird people.

What is it about?

You play as Kaf Kafkaryan, a cowardly middle-aged Octopus Blood junkie who cuts tentacles for a living. Kaf has been having bizarre dreams and hallucinations about a world inhabited by twisted creatures. To help the inhabitants of his dreams, he has to learn more about the people of Octopus City and to engage in some illegal activities. Along the way he becomes entangled in a conspiracy with far-reaching implications for Octopus City.

Does it interest you GOL visitors? I hope it is less disappointing for me than Stranded, which was just damned odd. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I've also been burned by game-like things with weak gameplay.
Pro tip for those in no hurry: use the positive/negative review filters on the steam store page. If there isn't anything negative it's probably too early. Read a bit of both until you know which way you lean. Try to buy good games less often rather than meh sales you may not care to finish.
