Take a look at some awesome Linux games on sale right now

By - | Views: 13,689

It's time to take another look at some great deals going on for Linux gamers, could we have your next game?

As usual, all deals picked are hand-picked for games I think you might appreciate. For any bundles, I will only note the Linux titles included, there may be more that don't support Linux in them too.

First, let's take a look a some game bundles going on. Humble Bundle is up first!

The Humble Endless RPG Lands Bundle has: Borderlands 2 (with some DLC), Wurm Unlimited and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel which all support Linux. Wurm Unlimited only has a Windows icon, to which I've told Humble their error and they thanked me but haven't yet changed it. It also gives you 10% off your first month of Humble Monthly if you pay more than $1.

Also, the Humble Gems Bundle 2 is still going which has: The Count Lucanor,  Pinstripe, Slayaway Camp, Apotheon and Cryptark.

Finally, their last bundle which has some Linux goodies is the Humble RPG Maker Software Bundle, which include:s Skyborn, Last Word, RPG Maker MV and Echoes of Aetheria. It's also likely the RPG Maker MV Starter Pack supports Linux, since it's just a DLC content pack, but it only has a Windows icon.

Bundle Stars actually have a good number of bundles on sale which have some Linux games, you can see all their bundles here. I don't think any of them are particularly great deals personally, but you might find something you like.

Next, let's look at some proper games on sale across various stores.

What's the best Linux deal going on right now, anything you feel we should note? Share your infinite knowledge in the comments!

Quoting: stretch611As for the titles currently on sale... War for the Overlord is a Dungeon Keeper Clone... (Dungeons and Dungeons 2 are also Dungeon Keeper clones, and Dungeons 3 is being released on Friday the 13th this week.)

Umm. let me correct you just a little - War for the Overlord is much more DK clone then Dungeons and Dungeons 2. Dungeons is more "wanna-be" Dk, while War for the Overlord is almost complete copy to some point - maps and campaign is, ofc, different, but mechanics almost similar to DK2 right to the point where its going awkward. If you looking for real DK2 restoration you need look for War for the Overlord
And for Dungeons 2...a played it and somehow its feels kinda dull and shallow.

Quoting: PhlebiacIf you own either of the Torchlight games on Steam, you can currently get them free on GOG:

I did this and it works... Interesting though, I bought both from Humble Bundle... Both have linux support on Humble, however only Torchlight II has linux support on Steam and GOG.

Well, it works if you used the Steam key from Humble. If it's in your Steam library it doesn't matter where you bought it. Having it (only) in your Humble Library is not sufficient....

Not available when Liam wrote the article, but available today... Friday 13th :)

Kingdom: New Lands is at 75% discount on Bundlestars. Possibly the lowest I've ever seen it. Great game, already own it. The offer doesn't last long, if you decide to grab it.
