Stardew Valley, one of the most popular casual farming life sims available on PC is getting another major upgrade and some features have been teased out by the creator.

Eric Barone, known as ConcernedApe, posted on Twitter that the 1.5 update will bring (amongst other things) splitscreen co-op which is quite exciting. Barone confirmed in follow-up posts that on PC this would be with up to 4 people. There's a lot more confirmed to be coming but first take a look below:

The above picture shows at least two entirely new areas, new monsters, a new weapon, you can place torches on top of fence posts, a new hat, a new floor type and the list goes on. What can you spot that's new?

What else to expect from Stardew Valley 1.5?

  • Sitting on furniture and furniture can be placed outside
  • Banana trees
  • Ducks will actually float on water now
  • You can move your bed
  • A new area, looks sandy

And there's probably plenty more we've missed. There's no date on when to expect it but it's shaping up to be a pretty huge free upgrade and that's awesome.

As I understand it, there will be more interactions available with your spouse and child, a random option for the jukebox, and new content in general throughout the game. Plus various quality of life stuff.
