A surprise from yesterday (October 10th), Intel announced and made immediately available the Intel Arc A580 desktop graphics. Filling up their hardware roster it slots into the middle of their offerings targetting 1080p gaming.
Here's how they currently stack up:

While those are the reference specs, cards will be available from partners including ASRock, GUNNIR and Sparkle and all three of them are putting out over-clocked versions where they're clocked at 2000 MHz. Pricing starts at $179.
I'm hopeful we will continue to see Intel push their GPU division, as we definitely need more vendors to keep AMD and NVIDIA on their toes. More competition is better for consumers and will keep all vendors pushing forward.

Indeed a surprise. Nobody understands what Intel does these days.
A meaningless product that barely competes with AMD and Nvidias previous generation low tier cards, like the RX6600 and RTX3050 (Hardware Unboxed video). The low price tag on the A580 also means these cards are again selling at a loss, like their A7xx siblings. Not to mention it's so much worse performance than the A7xx cards.
A750 can be found right now for 190 USD making this new A580 a joke.
Or why not a RX7600 which costs about 33% more and is 50-100% faster making the A580 a travesty.

These are clearly partially defective A750/770 chips that otherwise could not be sold at all.
I think it is a reasonable offer, but it irks me that apparently the defective parts are not actually fully disabled and still draw power even when idling.

Won't lie.... I Like the idea of Intel GPU's, and the 770 looks interesting as a replacement for my Nvidia 1070Ti... I think I'm just hesitant because they are so new...
Def keeping an eye on them though. I want this to be successful!!

Well, EU pricing for Arc gpu's is still really high. In my country A750 can be found for 270€ as the cheapest option. Other GPU's, excluding any 4 GB models, start at 230€ for Nvidia 1660S/2060, and AMD's RX 5500 XT for 180€ and RX 6600 starts at 210€. So this card seems like a good option in my eyes. If it can stay under 200€ that is.
