Did you know we have a Forum? Come and say hi to the wider community!

The insanely popular DELTARUNE from developer tobyfox (of UNDERTALE fame) is set for a big expansion, with DELTARUNE Chapter 5 arriving June 24th. Specifically, tobyfox said it will be out around 11am EDT (3pm UTC).

Confirming the update date today, it was shown off during the Nintendo Direct. There's even a new countdown for it on the official website.

How many more Chapters can we expect to arrive as free updates? That's not entirely clear, officially tobyfox just states that "more Chapters will be added for free over time". So I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

From the Steam page:

  • A massive soundtrack and story written by Toby Fox!
  • Meet new and endearing main characters, as well as familiar faces like Toriel, Sans, as more. Huh? Papyrus? No, he's busy. Sorry
  • Smooth and expressive pixel-animation by Temmie. She also has a new hat (in-game)
  • A linear, chapter-based system that you can pick up from anywhere.
  • Creative bullet-dodging based battles inspired by games like Touhou and Chrono Trigger.
  • Jevilishly difficult hidden bosses.
  • And...
  • ...
  • ... only 1 ending...?

Considering it has (at time of writing) 93,140 user reviews on Steam giving it an Overwhelmingly Positive rating, I really should get around to playing it soon shouldn't I? My poor backlog, it just continually grows. According to Steam Top 250, it's the 62nd best reviewed game on Steam.
