Bazzite Linux 44 has been out for desktops for a while, but the "Deck" image for handhelds and console-like TV PCs is finally here with a huge overhaul.
Specifically for their "Deck" images they're trying to align closer to Valve's SteamOS with these big changes:
- InputPlumber for controller handling, emulation, and remapping.
- SteamOS-Manager for handling everything from session switching to TDP control in steam.
- PowerStation for TDP/power control on devices SteamOS-Manager can’t support today.
- OpenGamepadUI as an extendable plugin overlay for options Steam doesn’t expose today.

With those changes you'll find TDP controls done directly in the Steam Quick Access Menu now, same with RGB changes.
Right now though some devices may no longer have fan controls, which they said they're working on but they did say "All handhelds are designed to have sufficient cooling without manual control", it's just manual control needed a bit of extra work for the new UI changes. Additionally, the original Legion Go lost Gyro but a patch for that is also in development.
They also now actually have a built-in notification system for updates like this so your device can let you know properly.
There's plenty of updates that also landed for desktop users (and everyone else) in this latest update too including:
- Bazzite now has a fancy GUI updater.
- The newest version of the Bazaar flatpak store.
- Rewritten Bazzite Portal.
- A better experience for multi-gpu users with the Cardwaire app.
- The new Open Gaming Collective Linux kernel.
- Upgraded Mesa graphics drivers.
- Support for AMD HDMI 2.1 FRL, ALLM, and VRR.
Plus lots more making this excellent choice for Linux even better than ever.
You can download from the Bazzite website.
Apparently it's a pretty new app? I saw someone on the forum talking about having an issue with it compared to supergfxctl. It IS getting fixed, but it kinda reminds me of Bazzite shipping Bazaar while it was underbaked and removing KDE Discover at the same time.
A lot of Lenovo handheld users seems to be having a bad time, but idk if that's Bazzite's fault as much as a consequence of positioning themselves as the turnkey solution for Linux on Handheld Devices.
