Now being published by Devolver Digital - HYPERDROP: A Pachinko Roguelite is a game that looks worth keeping on your wishlist with a demo out now.
In HYPERDROP you build up a vibrant board of colourful pegs that each have different abilities. Then drop a ball and watch the absolute chaos as it smashes into everything. It brings a fusion of ideas from other well-known pachinko games, but with the feel of true old-school retro arcade games with all the neon colours, explosive peg activations and the rather banging soundtrack.
The game progression design also gives the feel of Balatro for the score-chasing. Each round you have to hit a certain score and you keep building up your hand (or in this case, a board of crazy powered pegs). After each round you get to then buy upgrades at a shop or convert tokens you earned into more perks, the craziness of it only gets more intense as you go.

- Build the Machine
Turn an empty pegboard into an unstoppable scoring machine. Upgrade pegs to grant them incredible point-scoring perks including splitting your ball into multiple balls, sending balls back to the top of the board, sucking them into physics-defying gravity wells, or triggering explosions that can ripple across the board. With every drop, you never know what you'll get. - Balls to the Wall
Upgrade your balls, doubling them in size, infusing them with volatile energy, making them sticky, or giving them extra bounce to increase your point-scoring possibilities. You can also choose from a selection of unique balls, each with different properties and physics behaviours, including unusual shapes that fall in interesting ways or balls made of different materials. - Controlled Chaos
Pick your drop spot, release your ball into the depths, and watch the chaos unfold as you bend gravity, rewind time, trigger explosions, and chain together peg effects to keep the action going for as long as possible. But even in the midst of all this physics madness, you're still in control, strategically placing pegs and choosing upgrades to maximise your point-scoring potential. - Feel Every Drop
Progress through increasingly difficult stages filled with unique modifiers and boss battles that force you to rethink your build. Finish a run, then take on new challenges with alternate board layouts and fresh ways to play – all while enjoying mesmerizing neon-soaked visuals and a pulsing, atmospheric electronic soundtrack that evolves dynamically as your score increases.
No word on the release date other than sometime in 2027 but the demo that's up now built with Unity has a Linux version - which appears to work very nicely on my Fedora KDE 44 desktop.
Really captures the arcade experience. Love it, go try the demo.
