One big thing missing for Linux right now is support for XBOX PC and Game Pass, but we might not be waiting forever on that thanks to the 'Xodus' project.
From the GitHub page: "Xodus is an open-source reverse-engineering effort to make Xbox PC games (including GamePass) run on Linux and Mac systems. We handle everything needed to get GDK-based Xbox titles running outside of Windows".
This is not in any way endorsed by Microsoft, so even if they do manage to get it fully working, there would be nothing to stop Microsoft from breaking compatibility at any point. Still, it's coming from people involved in the likes of the Heroic Games Launcher so some clever people are working on it.

According to the main project page it can already login, download packages and obtain licenses for games. Plenty of work is still to be done to get it into a properly usable state though.
What games will be supported? They say they hope to support most of them with a limitation being the game has to be in the "GDK and in MSIXVC format".
What about "XBOX Backward Compatibility"? They said that "Xodus is capable of downloading and running those titles. It's possible these games will work only after additional patches to wine, dxvk or vkd3d-proton".
Definitely something worth keeping an eye on.
Come and chat about it in our Discord server if you're excited about it.
I hate that they were allowed to maliciously acquire soooooo many wonderful studios and developers only to destroy them all later on.
I will avoid this project and pretty much as much as I can from microsoft. I hope others do the same.
Quoting: ShabbyXDon't pay that bully microsoft your money. Pretend these games don't exist, play something else. There is no shortage of games!I would like to be able to play games that I already bought. I have older Forza games that would be nice to play on Linux that can't even be repurchased on Steam due to expired licenses.
Microsoft may also try to lock down future titles to just the Xbox store, so having the option to get them still would also be beneficial.
With that said, the hardest part for this project has yet to be done. I'm not sure if we haven't figured out how to get the store apps working on Linux because the effort hasn't been put in prior or if it really a tough technical challenge.

They don't run the Xbox App, they made their own. Like legendary interfaces with Epic Servers or GogDL interfaces with GoG Servers directly.
When I suggested this, time ago, everyone said It was impossible...
If they succeed, it will be an historical achievement in the linux world, like DXVK.
Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoFinally! This IS THE ULTIMATE compatibility advance for Gaming on Linux..😂 ... and a little bit of 🤣 with some 🤔 on the side

Quoting: JarmerMicrosoft has done SO MUCH damage to the entire gaming industry, and just continues on down this trajectory, clearly not understanding gaming itself, or even the creation of art in general whatsoever. Their new "totally a human and not a demon monster" disgusting person in charge of xbox just time after time demonstrates this.Microsoft has done a lot of bad to the world in general, and now they support Gaza's genocide and are subservient to the whims of the Trump administration and it's campaign of terror. They should be boycotted for far more than their damage to the games industry
