Counter-Strike 2 adds an intense fast-paced 3v3 'Rush' game mode

This new Rush mode might be my favourite way to play Counter-Strike 2, giving you a faster-paced experience with shorter matches. Rush is 3v3 in small arenas, with the point to take down all enemies or capture their little tower.

It's intense, fast and to the point and breathes some nice new life into CS2 for me.

From the update post:

"Put your foot on the gas and floor it. Welcome to Rush, a new fast-paced 3v3 queued mode for CS2. Experience the push and pull as you advance through a gauntlet of randomly-selected battle arenas, and dominate your opponent to win the match!

Make the most of your limited budget and precious time to clear the objective. Control the tower when you eliminate the enemy team (or time expires) to win the round.

Run the gauntlet of battle arenas to capture the enemy castle and win the match. The battle arenas are randomly selected each time you play, so no two matches are the same."

You also get leaderboards for wins, so you can compare 3v3 scores against your friends.

This update came with some other bigger changes for the gameplay as well including more prominent blood spatter, and a new silent reloading option where you hold down the reload key to do it slowly but quietly. Interesting to see such a mechanical change to the game.

Valve also gave Crosshairs a "significant" upgrade with new shapes and features to let you customize it exactly how you want it.

Clan Tags have also made a return! Now you can show off a Steam Group from your Player Profile. Like our GamingOnLinux Group which gives you a "GOLinux" tag - how fancy. I'm not really sure my skill is doing any help for us though, I'm utterly useless at it - but it's fun to try.

One more thing - there's also now Chicken Eggs to collect.

Now we just need to see a return of the Danger Zone mode with all the fancy Source 2 updates and I will be a whole lot happier with it. I really enjoyed that mode. iI was different in a fun way, so it's real sad to see Valve left it out of CS2.

I really really miss Rush from the Battlefield games... Might give this a go.

Cool idea. Last time I played CS2 was when I was trying to get better at aiming with my new Steam Controller. Pro tip, gyro with a dampening modifier make all the difference 😁
