DOOM: The Dark Ages from Bethesda Softworks / id Software is now a fair bit cheaper to grab - permanently. It's been out a little over a year now, and Denuvo DRM was recently removed - so it seems like quite a good time to grab it.

Previously £69.99 it's been dropped down to £44.99, as announced by the official DOOM account on Bluesky. They've also updated the DOOM Anthology bundle to now include the Premium edition of DOOM: The Dark Ages so you can buy a whole bunch together easily and save a bit.

I still haven't played through all of DOOM Eternal, perhaps now it's time so then I can go through DOOM: The Dark Ages. Could be a good one for my Steam Machine, once I get over my current addiction to Dead by Daylight on it and my increasing fixation on No Man's Sky with the latest update…

Will you be picking it up at the new lower price, or are you waiting for a big sale?

Most freaking fun I've had playing Doom in decades— especially after the previous Doom: Eternally Hand Your Ass to You! —and with an okay storyline (for Doom)!
The RX6600 is mentioned in the list for minimum requirements; I wonder how it actually performs.

(Ray tracing is a requirement for this game, and the RX6600 is only nominally capable of that [I tried it once on a Minecraft mod ... wasn't worth it]; so that might be the reason it earned (?!) its mention.)

I don't get why more companies don't do that. DOOM (2016) has dropped from $60 to $30 to $20, and then it even had a -90% sale. That's how you get played in every household everywhere, lol. Meanwhile Call of Duty (2003) went from $15 to $20 and never goes on a sale beyond -50%. Good luck I guess.

I'll buy it when it releases on GOG.
