The first new Minecraft dimension in over 14 years – joining the Overworld, the Nether and the End is The Sift.

Check out the best and easiest way to play Minecraft on SteamOS / Linux with our guide.

While details for Minecraft are rather light on The Sift, it will be first seen properly in Minecraft Dungeons II – which is launching on September 29. What we do know is that it will come with new biomes and mobs, and a new colourful look to it too - and of course, plenty of new blocks with it.

It's going to be a huge addition to the the game's content overall.

For the next actual main Game Drop update though, we're getting underground ice caves along with a new frozen zombie variant too.

They also teased a new Minecraft Creator Platform - with an aim to to make it clearer and easier for creators to create, manage, and share your game content. They haven't exactly given many details on it, but to me it sounds a bit like they're trying to make compete a bit more with Roblox and Fortnite.

The new version of Minecraft runs really bad on Steam Deck, so I am stuck on 1.21.11. When the performance is fixed, I'll try this new stuff..

I had bad performance on Steam Machine after updating the Java edition from 6.22 to 6.23. To fix the issue, I had to delete 6.23 and install it again in the Prism launcher.

You can wait until Microsoft sells it to someone with less business sense.
The last time Minecraft produced performance improvements it lost customers, due to a lack of extra features.
Optimizing costs not wins customers for them.
It's also why major servers are still stuck at 1.12 and run high end gaming processors instead of server processors.

Nope. I only play "creative mode" with my kids.
(Btw, I did not get a notification that people replied to my comment. That's why my responds is so late)

I will try barab4's suggestion
