⨯ Did you know we have a Forum? Come and say hi to the wider community!

SUPERHOT VR has another update out now, and should be a good one for those of you lucky enough to have a Steam Frame strapped to your face.

Announced on Steam the developers mentioned: "added support for eye-tracked foveated rendering on Steam Frame standalone build - enabled by default".

SUPERHOT VR

What does that actually mean? Using the eye-tracking on the Steam Frame, it will help performance by greatly reducing the image quality in the peripheral vision - so it focuses quality where you're actually looking. This is supposed to be one of those fancy features to make more games run well on the Steam Frame.

Hopefully we'll see more developers add this feature in. Great for standalone play, and SUPERHOT VR is Steam Frame Verified.

Are you still in the queue for the Steam Frame? Join the Steam Frame Waiting Room in the GamingOnLinux Forum.

I really hope what Valve's doing right now gives VR support a bit of momentum. Difficult, with the current price tag, but when it's done well (and superhot VR is done well) it's super great. Well beyond a simple "gimmick".

I got an additional mail from Valve that I'm now in the "official reservation waiting queue" (citation translated). I guess that doesn't mean anything new? It's not nearing...?

Would be cool if they added those foveat rendering features on the x86 version too… it would also benefit greatly there

Following the subreddit, it seems it is moving fairly quickly compared to the Deck, Machine or Controller - so don´t give up hope! ;)

Mine should arrive tomorrow - hopefully :D

Thank you! 🥰

But the mail doesn't mean anything beyond the mail I didn't win the first lottery already did, right?

As i understand, the reservation queue (that you are now in?) marks the "next in line" group that will receive the next available stock, while the waitlist marks the "we'll get to you some time later" group.

So you already made it into the store and now just have to wait in line or some crude metaphor like that 😆

Well, I guess it's better than being in the unofficial reservation waiting queue.
