Indoorlands is a special kind of theme park builder arriving July 14

Indoorlands from Pixelsplit is an upcoming game about building theme parks. It's piqued our curiosity due to the idea of everything being inside, and the way you design things. The developer has released two previous games with Virtual Rides 3 - Funfair Simulator and Deadly Days, with both being positively rated (and we quite liked Deadly Days too).

With the building system in Indoorlands you place down great big halls, then go inside to design every aspect of them. You can mix and match different themes, place down tons of different decorative objects and entire rides placed inside these huge rooms - it's called Indoorlands for a reason huh? Feature Highlight:

  • Build your own indoor amusement park from scratch.
  • The player takes on the tasks of the park manager, the designer as well as the ride operator.
  • As a manager, you have to satisfy the guests‘ needs, keep the economy running,  expand & maintain the park and research further buildings, objects and rides.
  • Use research centers to unlock more restaurants, shops, halls and rides.
  • Flat rides take center stage: As a ride operator, you control your rides and record unique ride programs that put a smile on your guests‘ faces.
  • All themings and objects are freely combinable, so each hall is unique due to the individual design choices.
  • There is no limit to your creativity: 500 decoration objects from various themings
  • Blueprint System: Show your creativity & share your hall interior designs and compositions with other players.
  • Planning the park architecture is a challenging task. Space is limited and maintenance buildings should be built apart from the flow of visitors.
  • Different tools like the feedback report, attractivity heatmap, ticket price adjustment or individual visitor details provide all the information needed.

We actually did some early testing for the developer on this one, and it seems like it's going to be thoroughly interesting to play and dare I say - quite unique compared with others in the genre.

You can follow Indoorlands on Steam with it entering Early Access on July 14.

Anyone remember the dark ages, when Linux had no games, wine barely worked, and one of the few conpanies that wanted to see gaming on Linux lost a lot of their supply because their basement flooded?

Now we have so many games that are native, Proton makes most things just work, and we even have theme park simulation games!

Quite a crazy ride it has been!
