Haunted Chocolatier announced from Stardew Valley creator

By - | Views: 14,443

ConcernedApe’s Haunted Chocolatier is the brand new announcement from the creator of Stardew Valley and it looks quite familiar in style with a new setting.

After 10 years of working on Stardew Valley, it was clearly time for something new. In this game, you will play as a chocolatier living in a haunted castle. In order to thrive in your new role, you will have to gather rare ingredients, make delicious chocolates, and sell them in a chocolate shop. It's a little more than that though, with a bit of a fantasy flavour being sprinkled on top.

While there's a haunted castle, ghosts and more the developer mentions not to think of it as an evil or negative game and instead they plan to have it be "positive, uplifting and life-affirming".

In regards to what platforms it will support, Eric Barone (aka ConcernedApe), mentions in the FAQ:

The only platform I am 100% certain about is PC. However, I have every intention of bringing it to the other major platforms as well.

We've reached out to find out more and to ask about Linux. If we do get a reply, we will update this.

You can see more on the official site.

Incredible attention to detail, as always. I didn't get into Stardew Valley, but this looks like a nice mix of the original games, but with some sweet sweet SpiritFarer vibes. Sounds like it's months away, if not years though.

Looks fantastic. Then again I'm into my fourth (I think) playthrough of Stardew Valley so this is an instant buy for me anyway. :>

I'm doing a relaxed run on Stardew Valley right now, so it's extra welcome to see this announcement.

Very interested to see how he makes this as absorbing as SV, given how open-ended the concept to that is. Too early to say much about it yet, though.

I like the idea of laying out and managing a store and selling to customers. Could be interesting.
