Duke Smoochem 3D is turning into a hilarious look at Britain

By - | Views: 20,632

What started off as a joke, Duke Smoochem 3D now seems to be turning into something of an actual game. The joke was around former UK Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock, who was famously captured on CCTV kissing an aid which broke COVID-19 social distancing restrictions.

Duke Smoochem 3D has progressed on from a single room, to actually containing quite a lot of areas to explore with some completely hilarious British scenes. On Twitter, the developer Dan Douglas mentioned that it's still pretty rough but they're "hoping to create some cool combat scenarios on top of all the meme shit eventually" and they're going "all-in" on it now. So eventually we can expect a full pack release.

The new trailer is available on YouTube, which sadly we can't embed due to it being age restricted. So here's some shots of things in it (click each to enlarge):

To understand a lot of it, you probably need to have lived in the UK. I couldn't help but laugh through that video though, absolutely brilliant.

Meanwhile, if you're after another good bit of retro-fuelled gaming with a British edge to it, there was also the Thatcher’s Techbase release from September that sees you take down an evil reincarnation of Maggie Thatcher.

I think there might be a redundant word in there somewhere...

Probably just a wrong ordering of "reincarnation of evil Maggie Thacher"

Not sure how to feel about understanding most of the references in the trailer, despite not being British (for now anyways). Is that a good or bad thing?

Are you fighting Mr. Blobby in that screenshot? Only recognize that from watching British YouTubers...

Wasn't she evil anyway? :-D

The Cameron scene with the pigs head is somehow similar to a Clinton/Lewisnsky scene.....

Excellent! Just need more gore when blowing Blobby up (with the rocket launcher preferably).

Look, I went to Blobby Land as a child and know how evil Mr. Blobby is okay.
