Gravity Circuit, a side-scrolling platformer that turns the action up to 11 and builds upon the legacy of popular console titles from the 1980s and 1990s has been released, and it has a native Linux version.
Released on July 13th by developer Domesticated Ant Games and publisher PID Games, Gravity Circuit sees the player guiding Kai, an upgradeable robotic war-veteran who is the user of the titular Gravity Circuit, as he seeks to take down the evil Virus Army and put a stop to their attempt at world-domination.
Set in a future world populated by sentient robots, the game wears its inspirations on its sleeve and that's no bad thing, as it looks like a very slick reimagining of classic 1990s console platformers such as Capcom's Mega Man X, but with an even quicker pace and much more acrobatic movement. It seems to be finding favour with fans, too, with all reviews on Steam currently sitting at Very Positive within a week of release.
