Post-apocalyptic real-time strategy game Retro Commander is out now

By - | Views: 32,836

Up for some more classic RTS action? Retro Commander from Noble Master is now officially released after 6+ years in development. Some of you might know Noble Master from their previous games like Age of Conquest IV and Demise of Nations.

You definitely get some early Westwood RTS game vibes from this like Command & Conquer. The developer mentioned over email that "Retro Commander tries to emulate the classic RTS look and feel, albeit with modern day controls and elements. The game focuses on both single and multiplayer matches. A comic-based story campaign follows the footsteps of Agent Johnson, who wakes up in a futuristic wasteland. In over 25+ missions, you need to make new friends and fight against their enemies. The single player AI comes with several difficulty levels. In multiplayer games you fight co-op style with the AI and other players for ultimate victory. Players are given an ELO-like rating. The game supports cross-platform multiplayer matches against players on PC, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS.".

Just like their previous games you get a couple little tutorial levels free to play plus some multiplayer maps, and then you have to buy the rest of the game. It's a curious way to try to pull people in that not many games on Steam do. The actual full complete game can be picked up as a DLC on Steam or in-game for £16.75 / $19.99.
