Blending together elements of the likes of Terraria and Rimworld, the open world survival craft and colony sim game Necesse has a big update out now. And there's some more exciting stuff to come still.
One of the most requested features is an update to the graphics, and the good news there is that they've now got two full-time artists working on a huge upgrade to that! Their little gif teaser shows what kind of style to expect to come in a future update:
As for this latest released update it's a big one. Characters are now separated from worlds, so you can take your character anywhere to any other player's world in what they're calling the "Necesseverse". So that works a lot more like Terraria, Valheim and other games that do the same. Solo players also get a new survival mode with food spoilage, a refined system for asking NPCs to join player parties, a reworked endgame, and snowballs. On top of that there's also a new biome featuring boss monsters and loot, as well as more fine-tuned difficulty options plus plenty of bug fixes.
Necesse has Native Linux support and it is Steam Deck Verified!
