Digital Tribe have teamed up with Oddly Shaped Pixels to publish Super Rocket Shootout [Steam, Official Site], a new 2D pixelart brawler and it will have Linux support.
The game will have an "engaging" story mode, local multiplayer and team play options. You will have the choice to play as 8 characters, each of which have their own "Super Attack". Weapons will include shotgun, homing missiles, boomerangs, teleport-bombs and more.
The stages themselves are destructible, which sounds like it could be pretty fun. Hard to tell from the trailer, but it looks like it's only partial destruction with specific items.
It seems it will only be available on Steam. The plan is to launch it sometimes this "Summer" with no clearer date mentioned to me.
