Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire [Official Site] is the new RPG from Obsidian that will release sometime next year. This new video shows off some of the early work, including cats and sick pirates.

The game was funded on Fig, where Obsidian gathered $4.4 Million in backing. $2.25M was from Fig itself, while $2.15M was pledged directly from players.

I must admit it does look quite good! They seem to be working on a lot of the little things in this one, like more idle animations, people throwing up if they drink too much and a cat kept alive by unnatural sciences — oh my!

Will you pick up a copy at release, or did you back it on Fig? Their commitment to a Linux version again has me happy. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I backed this and looking forward to playing it. Now trying to fill the gap with Tyranny which is as close as can get to PoE mechanics but still can't seem to force myself to get immersive in it.
