Aftercharge [Steam, Official Site] seems to break a few rules when it comes to competitive FPS games. You have two rather different sides pitting invisible robots against an invincible security squad.

Usually, competitive FPS games would have comparable sides. However, in Aftercharge you can't even see one side unless you make use of what looks like some form of grenade. How this style of two vastly different sides will actually feel will be interesting to find out.
I asked the developer on Twitter if they planned Linux support and their reply was (source):
That was a very nice surprise, since it was a random shot in the dark from me!
I absolutely love the idea of it and the graphical style isn't bad either, love the neon look! It's due sometime next year, so keep an eye out, I certainly will be!

About the game

Six glowing structures called extractor are at the center of the gameplay and serve as the objective for both teams. The robots have to coordinate their attacks, create distractions and sneak around to destroy them. The enforcers on the other hand have to cover as much ground as possible and use their abilities wisely to spot the attackers and stop them before they can destroy all of the extractors.

To answer your concerns: We haven't added Linux as supported platforms on Steam because Steam requires us to enter minimum requirements for each OS and we still have no idea what kind of requirements the game will need for its minimum ( on any OS for that matter ) so we didn't want to commit right now.
Yeah we'll be working our development on Windows first, our Linux build probably won't be there until Beta.
