New in Alliance:
Buying Guns of Icarus Alliance actually includes the original Guns of Icarus Online, but you need to buy Alliance separately if you own the previous title.

Never tried. I love "Steampunk" genre, but i never felt attracted by this game. I feel it has a steampunk paint, witout much depth, but i may be fully wrong about that.

I played a fair amount of Guns of Icarus Online in the early days, and it can be a great game. Although it is very dependent on the community and teamwork. You absolutely have to use voice communication to coordinate your actions. And experienced players will totally hand you your ass on a plate.
I would like to try Alliance, but I am afraid I will not be able to dedicate enough time to actually be any good at it. Which is a problem with such highly cooperative games. That was actually the reason I stopped playing Guns of Icarus Online in the first place...

The same problem with me. I wanted to play more of the game but never got to assemble a team.

Guns of Icarus is definitely a cool game to play with a couple of friends, when you roleplay the roles of the ship crew using the voice chat :)

The original game seems to have vanished off my steam list, I'm pretty sure I bought it ages ago as I remember distinctly playing it drunk with friends & that's the best way to play it. :D

I enjoy a lot GOI, to appreciate it you should be with 2 friends (with voice chat), 1 minimun, 3 for the best experience, if you go alone, then you must make a few friends with other players or you wont enjoy it that much.

Played it a bit in the early days but found it repetitive and lacking in depth. So did my friends, so we haven't played it for a couple years. I'd actually want to retry it but not sure I can get my friends on board and without them there's no use.
Oh and forgot to say that if they had released this as a free update the chances of getting my friends to retry it with me would probably have been higher, but I highly doubt any of us will spend more money on a game we didn't find particularly fun after the initial fascination with the concept.
