Albion Online the very cool Linux-native MMO will have a final beta on August 1st that brings tons of huge changes to the game.

The Final Beta will start on August 1 for Legendary Founders, August 2 for Epic Founders (my level) and August 3 for Veteran Founders.

Changes at a glance
- Huge new world
- Different biomes so the world feels less stale
- Guild vs. Guild system has been reworked
- A crime and reputation system
- Item enchanting
- Random spawning for resources
- Lots of other changes

I do really like the game, and I am really pleased with the direction it is going. I am looking forward to playing it properly after the final wipe which looks like it will happen when this beta is deployed.

I play Star wars the old republic through wine, and as far as I know World of warcraft also runs perfectly through wine. But as far as I know there aren't currently any _good_ mmorpg games that run natively on linux...

Yeah, pretty much this. There is not a single really good MMO natively running on Linux (Runescape probably the closest to that you can get), but people report having success running some of them in Wine. In addition to the two you mentioned, Star Trek Online and Guild Wars 2 run ok in Wine as well (both with minor glitches, but playable).

Eve has an un official linux client, its been announced here on GoL aswell.

It seems to run very good according to the thread on GOL and Eve's own forums.
But there is a subfee request ofc, and that puts me off a bit.
But it is a good mmo on linux.

Dofus / Wakfu.

Well, Wakfu is Java, and Dofus is Flash/Air although the devs had the sense to stay with the last Linux-supported version of Air.

World of Warcraft did, indeed, run smoothly through Wine for me. But I would really recommend Albion Online. Last time I played it, it felt like it needed some work, but they appear to be quite productive. It was a bit too PvP-oriented for me, but I intend to come back to it in August, as lately they seem to be adding more PvE stuff.

I can't wait.. so when exactly is the last wipe? in the article says in this last beta? are you sure is before the beta or after the beta? will make more sense to me after the beta..

BTW: I played ESO that is one of my fav MMO's because im a RvR kind of player, and it was running just fine.. sometimes it will crash after 4-5 hours of gameplay..
