A little later than I had hoped, but Feral Interactive have released the Alien Hunters DLC for XCOM 2 along with a patch to bring it up to the same level as Windows.

Feral did say this on reddit before the release:
Quotethe Linux version of Alien Hunters has been submitted for approval

So either Firaxis or 2K held it up for some reason.

The DLC adds in new weapons, new enemies, a new building for your base and more.

You can find the patch notes here. Version 1.2 is quite a big patch, and it has these Linux-specific fixes on top of the large amount of other changes for all platforms:
QuoteFixed issues reported with some Audio mods not playing back sounds correctly.
Minor improvements to various modding installation issues reported on specific setups.

Good stuff Feral! Still one of my favourite releases on Linux and I look forward to getting back into it with all the latest goodies which I was holding out for recently. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Quoting: sevendoes it fix the crashing of the game on ubuntu 16.04?

We don't have any open issues with 16.04 and XCOM 2. As long as your hardware and drivers match the min specs on Steam then you'll be fine.

Crashes are usually caused by incorrect drivers so that's the first thing to check.

Quoting: GuestIt took me over a week trying to find drivers that would work with XCOM2 until I found 364.19 drivers and figured out how to install them.
If you mean the "official" Ubuntu Proprietary GPU Drivers PPA, you could just say so. Spread the info, man. Not like it's a secret or anything. And the PPA is clearly the best way to install Nvidia's drivers on Ubuntu, unless you simply cannot wait for the day or two they take to add newly released drives.

I'm getting a missing DLC / Mod error when I try to load my save game. Its looking for the Resistance Warrior Pack which was pre-order DLC, and the only DLC that I own. Steam shows the DLC is installed. Verifying the game cache integrity in Steam didn't help.

CANNOT LOAD SAVE GAME
The selected Save is missing required Downloadable Content or Mods:
"Resistance Warrior Pack"
Choosing to load it may result in a negative experience such as poor performance or
instability. Proceed at your own risk.

Running on Fedora 23, AMD FX-8320, AMD R9 270, Mesa 11.1.0

Make sure you restart Steam client then verify your installation that should force the Steam client to pickup the patch correctly. There were a few issues shortly after launch where some pre order content didn't update correctly but a restart of the Stema client (as that forces the client to get new ownership info) should clear the problem. You will likely get a download at this stage as the missing files update/reinstall.

The DLC work ok for me except I have VERY HEAVY FPS loss on the World map -- on tactical missions I have 50-60 FPS and the same on the ship, however on the World map I have like 6-7 ... I tried to disable all the mods, but there is smth wrong with the Launcher, and whenever I launch it and look at the mods, all the mods are still enabled. Is there any bugzilla or github for reporting the problems ?
Specs:
CPU: i5-6300HQ
GPU: nVidia 960M, with blob 364.19
Kernel: 4.4

The performance drop is due to some mods having issues and causing the game to run badly. These mods effect Windows/Mac & Linux in the same way. Some mods don't uninstall correctly (again on all platforms) which can compound the issues if you use these buggy mods.

There is a thread here started by Windows users that helps explain the issues and has some steps you can take to fix it by uninstalling the mods.

If you have issues disabling mods in the Launcher for some reason then you can quit the game and use the Steam client to go to the Workshop items you have installed and unsubscribe. The url to this page will look something like this.

If after all this you think you have a Linux specific issue then use the pre game launcher to contact our support and we can investigate.

@edddeduck_feral: Why don't you guys set up an bugtracker on Github like Valve did for their linux products? It would cost less time to support those in comparison to single reports about the same issue over, and over again!?

Waiting for XCOM2 to go on special. Definitely something I want to try under Linux (with these PRO drivers.)

Quoting: GuestFore someone installing Ubuntu for the first time there is nothing "Official" looking about the Launchpad PPA. Official, to me at least, means repositories that are included in the install or can be selected from a repository list in the repo manager. There are a lot of things about Linux that are not transparent for new users, especially when graphics drivers are concerned.
You are absolutely right, and I didn't mean to sound condencending. Sorry about that. I did put the word official in double quotes to indicate that the PPA is still a work-in-progress and the only thing making it sort of official is that it's managed by Ubuntu staff. AFAIK it's hoped that when they get it all figured out, this PPA will be better integrated into Ubuntu's driver manager or something. It's already the best way to install these drivers though.

In any case, with Ubuntu (and most derivatives) a PPA is almost always the best source for software not in the official repositories, especially when said PPA is managed by Canonical employees (as is the case here) or developers of whatever software you're installing. Other distros do things in other ways of course.

Thanks for the super fast reply. However I needed to purge the "~/.local/share/feral-interactive/XCOM2/VFS/Local/my games/XCOM2/XComGame/Config" directory and reinstall all the mods. Now it works OK.
