QuoteWe have been holding this announcement back for a while but today we reveal what Apalia HD - Episode 2 will be all about.
While Episode 1 will be a free game, Episode 2 will be available for a small cost. It works like an expansion that adds more content to your game; including a larger variety of enemies, places to explore, short stories and a capture-the-flag game. But what exactly is involved in the Apalia HD flag game?
Eferu's Game is essentially a capture the flag game spanning multiple levels. This means that you will be able to lose a flag on level 3 while playing in level 5, raising the stakes much higher; as well as adding re-playability which is important for casual action games. The flag game concept came to be when we weren't happy with the way our individual maps worked, so we made the decision to develop new levels for episode 2 and combine them to make a single match.
This means that you can get to the end of the line, but if an enemy gets past you they will soon lose interest in you and start venturing for another flag, even if it means moving to another level on their own accord. James Booth, Game Director of Apalia HD has said, "Once the enemies re-claim one of their flags it will become a spawn point for the enemies, and from there they will stage an attack on your remaining flags. You could very well end up playing the game backwards so the stakes are definetely higher and you really want to make sure you never let an enemy get by. It could end up costing you the match!"
Episode 2 will be released the same day as Episode 1 for PC, Mac and Linux, followed by an iOS and Android Release soon after. Future ports will be determined after release.
