A big Portal 2 mod is now for sale on Steam for Linux promising to expand the game rather a lot with new content. Complete with new characters and voice acting.

The sad thing is I've seen a lot of complaints about people not wanting to buy a "mod", but when it's done this well and complete with voice acting, and an original soundtrack then £4.99 really isn't much (and it's on sale right now too!). It does actually look really good, so I'm not exactly sure what all the fuss is about.

About
Aperture Tag: The Paint Gun Initiative is a community-made mod for Portal 2, inspired by TAG! The Power of Paint. The familiar Portal 2 gels are now contained within the Aperture Science Paint Gun Device and it's your job to test it out!

Featuring a new personality-core and an original story with 27 polished levels; the mod offers an exciting and fun experience in varied and interesting new locations throughout Aperture Science.

Introducing gels as the core gameplay mechanic completely changes the way you solve puzzles, explore, and survive all the challenges thrown at you!

So, be sure to check it out on Steam and tell us what you think of it. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Bought it on release day and I've played it for two hours so far and I have to say it's really fun and worth those few bucks I've had to spend for this "stupid mod". Actually, it's the best portal mod I've played. People should stop complaining and try it on their own.

Yeah, the comments have been hugely out of order. I'll likely pick this up in a couple of weeks - gonna try A Valley Without Wind first.

What !? Counter Strike, Team Fortress, DotA, The Stanley Parable, Natural Selection, Killing Floor ... were all mods at the beginning, nobody ever gonna say that they don't want to buy Counter Strike because it was a mod.
