If you want a chance to beta test Disgaea 2 PC [Steam] for Linux, now is your chance. The developers are requested people enter a quick form.

I've done it, so hopefully it will help me get some thoughts out on the game at release.

QuoteWe're happy to announce another round off beta testing specifically for Linux/Mac OSX/Steam OS users! Sorry, we will not be accepting any Windows OS applications at this time.

Find out more info here.

I'm pretty happy with this, as they are specifically asking for Linux/SteamOS/macOS users. This is a damn good sign they are taking our version seriously. It's likely to be a very popular release too, which is really good news for us to get it. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Hoping I get an email about getting a beta copy, I'm so excited, I've played a few disgaea games on the vita and they're really fun, I'm ready to buy this when it comes out.

I have no interest in beta testing, but I'm happy they're already testing the Linux version to make sure it's solid at launch. This is definitely a day 1 purchase for me and, no hyperbole, my most anticipated title of 2017. Getting a Disgaea title on Linux is a dream come true. Hopefully this sells well enough on the penguin that we eventually get all the entries in the series.

Heh, it's the exact opposite for me. I have limited interest in the game, but was considering to sign up out of patriotic duty to make Linux gaming great again. :)

I hope I'll be selected as well. It's so rare to have JRPGs on Linux, not to mention Tactical JRPGs, I want to help the best I can.

Unfortunately there is a plethora of those Anime style 'dating sim' games...

Is there any at all?

This is a proper JRPG, it has nothing to do with dating sims or visual novels.

Disgaea 2 is not a dating sim, it's a sRPG, a damn good one too.

This is a game I totally wasn't expecting to come to GNU/Linux and SteamOS. Will be a definite buy when the game is formally released!

Holy crap! This is... a really good sign that they will actually give us a port for this! Honestly, when I read the announcement article on GOL a few months ago my thought was "Man that would be awesome... but why do I get a sinking feeling like with Giana Sisters and Witcher 3?!" But this... this is as rock-solid evidence as we're likely to get this early on! So awesome! JRPGs and Japanese-developed strategy RPGs are a serious weakness in Linux's library! This would do wonders! Instabuy on port launch!
