Armor Clash II [Steam], a cheap-looking RTS game will release soon with Linux support. Even though it looks a little tacky, I think it could be a good bit of fun.

From that, I'm not expecting miracles, but I think it looks interesting enough to warrant a review. We are short on even reasonably good RTS games. It has single-player Skirmishes, as well as LAN network play, but sadly no online support. If it had online play, it could be much more fun. Still, if you prefer playing against the AI or LAN battles, it could be a bit of fun for you RTS enthusiasts.

You can see some clear inspiration from Command & Conquer, especially the delivery plane flying down (NOD).

Their Steam page is a bit messy, with the feature list on the right panel listing cross-platform multiplayer (online play) and local co-op (same computer), neither of which it seems to have. I have requested the developer to give it the correct tags in the list.

They are waiting on final checks from Valve before they can release it, so the release date is subject to change. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

If the price is right it looks worth a punt just for nostalgic reasons alone. Huge shame about the lack of online support though.

I don't mind the look. I like that the vehicles stand out nicely from the background. I still enjoy original Starcraft; the gameplay's the important part.

This does look like C&C

Curios if they do give it a campaign wit the the cheesy over the top characters and generals C&C:ZeroHour had.

The screenshot reminded me of Oil Rush.
